I watched from a distance as He taught the many. As I drew nearer, I heard the way He spoke in love to all who would listen.  I wondered about the things of which He spoke.  I watched…. I wondered…..  I walked away alone.

I watched the blind leave Him seeing.  I watched the deaf leave Him hearing.  I watched the lame leave Him walking.  I wondered who He was. I heard Him say that he was God’s Son.   I watched….  I wondered…. I walked away alone.

I watched when He rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey and all around Him proclaimed Him as king.  I saw the people in the shadows the next day, planning His demise. I wondered how this man, this self proclaimed “Son of God” would fulfill His purpose if He were to die. I watched…. I wondered…  I walked away alone.

I watched Him carry the cross up that hill. I saw Him fall under the weight and from the torture He had endured.  I wondered why He said nothing.  I wondered why His eyes had no hatred. I saw them hang Him high upon that cross, between two thieves as if He was the worst. I  saw Him suffer, I saw Him bleed, I saw Him die. I watched…. I wondered….   I walked away alone.

I watched two men run by only to return with the news that He has risen. I did not believe- how could anyone overcome the grave? I  saw him bleed. I saw him die.  He couldn’t be alive. Yet I had seen Him heal the sick and I wondered if it could be true.I watched…. I wondered…. I walked away alone.

I watched the door to the upper room. I heard the noise, I felt the wind,  I sensed the excitement. I saw His followers doing the same things that He did. I saw them saying  the same things that He said.  I wondered if there was room.
I wondered if there was forgiveness for all that I had done.I watched…. I wondered…. I walked away alone.

I walked back to the place where He had died.  I touched that cross,  I remembered the pain He had endured.  I knew now why He had died.  I knew that he had died because he loved the world. I knew he had died  because he loved me even though  I had walked away so many times. I knelt there by that blood stained   cross that day. The tears fell from my eyes as I prayed that He would  forgive me my sins and wash me clean. As I walked away this time….
I watched….I wondered…. I walked away, but nevermore alone.

Just as I am – without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me
And that Thou bidst me come to Thee
O Lamb of God, I come, I come!
… I am with you always,
even to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:20
You come to Christ, you receive the forgiveness of sins.  You come to Christ, you receive a new nature, a new disposition, a new heart that loves righteousness.  You come to Christ and you die to the past and you rise to new life.  You come to Christ and you’re delivered from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son.  You come to Christ and you literally come to the truth that transcends, the truth you’ll never find anywhere except in the Word of God and even this truth you’ll never understand until the Spirit of God takes up residence and becomes your teacher, and then you know the deep things of God.  It’s all in Christ.  All truth, all wisdom, all knowledge, all understanding, all peace, all joy, all value, all fulfillment, all satisfaction, all purpose, all deliverance, all strength, all comfort, and all eternal hope is in Christ.  To have Him is to have everything.  Not to have Him is to have nothing.
The Bible calls these the unsearchable riches of Christ.  And indeed they are.

Christ died for our sins! Here is our salvation; here is our peace; here is our hope of eternal glory! Christ, who died for our sins, who took sin upon Himself, who satisfied God's righteousness, is the power of God. The sin-bearing Work of the Lord Jesus Christ gives God power to save man from the horrible pit of sin, to cleanse and forgive him, as he grasps in faith the pierced hand of the Lord Jesus, and then that power lifts him out of his lost condition into the glorious place of a child of God. Do you believe that Christ died for your sins? Do you believe He bore your sins in His own body on the tree? Have you looked to that Cross on which the Prince of Glory died, and looking there, have said in faith: "He loved me, He gave Himself for me"? Have you cast yourself upon Him and accepted Him? Have you done what is written - "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved"? Then you are saved. Then rejoice and be glad. Rejoice! For you are acquitted of all your guilt. Rejoice! For Jesus paid it all. Rejoice! You are born again and have become a true child of God by faith in Jesus Christ. Rejoice! You are accepted in the Beloved One. Rejoice! You have passed from death unto Life. Rejoice! God is your loving Father. Rejoice! There is no condemnation. Rejoice! You are an heir of God and fellow-heir with Christ, and the Father's House will be your eternal and glorious Home.
Rejoice! You are nevermore alone!
