This day I dedicate to You, each breath I take, each word I say.  Let Your love embrace my every step,  Your peace consume my mind, Your spirit fill my heart. The past I lay before You.  I want so much to let go, but know that only You can take it.  I also know that You can take it, only if I am willing to let it go.  Yesterday is gone, I cannot change it.  I know that I have to live with scars from it, but You have healed the wounds.  I give to You yesterday.
This day I dedicate to You, each breath I take, each word I say.  Let Your love embrace my every step,  Your peace consume my mind, Your spirit fill my heart.  There is no promise of tomorrow.  I think of tomorrow sometimes in expectation, sometimes in dread.  You have not guaranteed me one more breath.  Your will. Your plan. You know if there is tomorrow and if there is, then tomorrow I will say….
This day I dedicate to You, each breath I take, each word I say.
Let Your love embrace my every step,  Your peace consume my mind, Your spirit fill my heart.
This moment, this hour…..this day.

Lamentations 3:22-23
What will become of our children? What will become of our health?  What will become of our marriages? What will it be like tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow? What will become of our church?  Will we be winning the lost, and standing for righteousness, and delivering the oppressed, and worshiping with white-hot zeal for the glory and grace of our great God? What about tomorrow? Will we have the strength to live tomorrow when it comes? And to live it well and wisely and even joyfully, no matter what God's measure of pain and pleasure?
The point is that the strength to live tomorrow will be given tomorrow, not today. And it will be given. Our task today is not to have the strength needed for tomorrow's burdens. Our task today is to live by the mercies given for today, and to believe that there will be new mercies for tomorrow. Today's mercies do not include strength for tomorrow; they include faith that tomorrow's unseen mercies will be sufficient for tomorrow. Today's mercies for today's troubles; tomorrow's mercies for tomorrow's troubles.

New every morning! When you stop to think about it, that’s an amazing thing. After some of the stupid, un-thought-through, foot-in-mouth things I did yesterday? I probably used up most of my "seventy times seven” times that we are to forgive one another yesterday. Yet God still has the audacity, the boldness, the magnanimity to say, “My mercies towards you are new every morning,” like it’s no big deal. Wow!
Just think. If I could put yesterday behind me, the pressures of work, the worry about money, the nagging hidden embarrassment about not having a spotless house, I could have slept through the night. I would walk into this new day with a gleam in my eyes, a spring to my step and a smile for each person who crossed my path. Tomorrow would be another new day. Another day of new beginnings. Another day of new mercies!
Probably the biggest hurdle in the way of the mindset is believing that it is true. God’s Word says it. We know His Word is true. His mercies are new every morning! He doesn’t frown at us and say, “I know what you did yesterday!” Go to bed tonight and ask His forgiveness and tomorrow He will smile and call out, “New mercies! Fresh for today! Just for you — because I love you!”
The other hurdle I face is being able to forgive myself and accept His new mercies. You know a gift isn’t a gift until somebody accepts it. God is doing His part. Now I just have to do mine.

Heavenly Father, what a marvelous concept — new mercies every day. For me! Help me get it through my head and down into my heart. My days will all go better when I throw myself on today’s mercies seeking Your forgiveness and face tomorrow with new ones. Even work and play and my relationships with others will be totally revolutionized, my health mentally and physically would be completely changed if I could let today’s problems and hurts roll off my back like a little duck and swim in the love of new mercies each day. Help me Lord. I want the peace of mind that will bring.
